Welcome back everyone! It's August, which means summer is over, school is back, and so is the OA. Our new leadership is now officially in effect (which can be found on our leadership page), and the new schedule is up here as well.

Our first event of the month will be the chapter meeting on the 21st at the usual location. We will be introducing our new leaders and start getting ready for the great year to come.

Also, for those in leadership positions, be sure to sign up for and attend the LLDP (Lodge Leadership Training Program) on the 23rd. Here you will learn valuable skills on how to do you're job to the best of your abilities. Attendance also helps us qualify for the Quality Chapter Award.

It's May! Hope you're all enjoying the end of the school year. Our event of the month is the Tipisa Service Weekend at Camp Lanoche. It will be held on the weekend of the 16th to the 18th, and is a fun filled week of cheerful service to help fix up Camp Lanoche, and show some appciation for all they do for us. We're planning on working on improving our campsite by painting it and adding more tents. Afterwards is an afternoon of fun and games. The cost for the weekend is $15, and there is no late fee. For more information, visit Tipisa.org.

It should also be noted that there is no chapter meeting scheduled for this month. We may try to plan an event over the summer, but more news on that when it comes.

April 2008

Our first event of the month will be the Spring Conclave, from the 11th to the 9th. This is one of the annual gatherings of all the councils in our section. It is being hosted this year by the Osceola Lodge of the Southwest Florida Council, at Camp Flying Eagle. We will try to get together and carpool for all those wishing to attend, and more information can be obtained by visiting Tipisa.org.

We will also be having a chapter meeting on the 19th, and it's important one, because it's also our chapter's elections. We will be electing new positions for the 2008-2009 year, so it is very important that you attend, even if your not running, to assure you get your say in who leads the chapter for the next year. New positions will take their offices beginning in July.

On a another note, I've rebuilt parts of the Tosohatchee website from the ground up, allowing me to add now neat new features, such as an RSS feed (live bookmark for those familiar with it), which allows you to know whenever there's been an update, without even coming here. Keep an eye out for more to come.

The Spring Conclave is coming up this weekend!!!! This is one of the best weekends of the year and one of the primary benefits of being in the Order. The theme is “Heroes of Tipsa”, so you are free to come dressed as your favorite superhero (or villain). There will be fun events, movies, use of the pool, patch trading, Brotherhood Counseling, a Native American Pow-Wow, seminars and more! The cost is only $20 for the whole weekend and the best way to register is on-line with a credit card at www.tipisa.org.

For March, we are not having our regular Chapter Meeting at Roundtable. Instead we are going to the Aiguille Climbing Center in Longwood for a day activity on Saturday March 22nd from 10am to 3pm. The cost is around $18 for climbing for the day and $6 for adults belaying only. Please plan to meet at the Center and bring extra money for lunch. Several adults are needed to help belay. For all youth, a waiver is needed to climb. Please see Aiguille’s web site at for the waiver and more information.

Other events coming up include the Section Conference April 11-13, 2008 at Camp Flying Eagle in Bradenton, FL and Chapter Elections at our April Chapter Meeting. More information will be made available on these events as they get closer.

We want to have a huge turnout this weekend so we encourage all Arrowmen, especially our new Ordeal Members who just joined us in January, to come and have fun! Scoutmasters and OA Troop Representatives, please spread the word this week at your Troop Meetings to encourage Members to attend this great weekend. Please contact me with any questions.

Welcome all new Ordeal members! This month's chapter meeting will be on the 21st, and is dedicated to welcoming you to the OA! There will be a party of food, games, a movie, and a bunch of other stuff that you won't want to miss! This is also our last meeting before the Spring Conclave, so we'll be talking a little about that too. Don't worry, it's nothing like the Ordeal. It's a weekend of chapter-on-chapter fun and games that you're going to love, so make sure you ask around about it!
