comment(s): 0Tipisa Native American Weekend
Updated 10 Nov : 13:59 by Matt Tucker
Central Florida Council… Just one year ago Tipisa Lodge held the first Tipisa Native American Weekend. It is time for the 2nd annual TNAW. This year this event will be open to Tipisa Lodge, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and members of the Order of the Arrow. This huge gathering will be a great event for scouts and scouters to come together and enjoy.
This event is an all weekend Pow-wow full of crafts, vendors, classes, dancing, drumming and ceremonies for the chapters, packs and troops. This is going to be a full blown event that is sure to be a well attended event. There will be numerous activities for all levels of scouting. There are crafts and games for the youth along with classes and activities for the adults to enjoy. This is a great tome to see and experience what the Native American culture is.
So get ready and join us as Tipisa Lodge hosts the largest Native American weekend for Scouting.

2008 Section Seminars
Updated 20 Oct : 18:02 by Matt Tucker
Brothers,
While many of us believe that we are one of the best lodges in the nation, there is always room for improvement. The 2008 Section Seminars is very near (November 7-9 at Camp Tanah-Keeta) and it is a great place to gather new ideas from other lodges and see what we can do with them.
Years ago, we demonstrated the Elangomat program to the nation, and it's grown into a large part of our Inductions program. With hundreds of other lodges in the country, imagine what other great ideas are just waiting to be put into action!
The Section Seminars offers many different classes and discussions, not only for Administration, but also about Ceremonies and American Indian Activities. These tracks help focus arrowmen into interesting topics; but what if you are interested in several? That's ok, the weekend was set up so that you can do several things, be it drumming and ceremonial regalia or retaining new members and fancy dancing.
Whether you're a leader in the chapter or lodge or an arrowman who likes ceremonies or American Indian culture, this is the event for you!
Hurry though, we have less than a week (October 24) to get everyone signed up! You can register online or download the registration form.
More information about Section Seminars can be found at the Aal-Pa-Tah Lodge website.
If you have any questions, please email me at chief@tipisa.org

2009 National Order of the Arrow Conference
Updated 15 Sep : 14:44 by Ben Laube
The National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC), held at Indiana University on August 1-6, 2009, is the largest event for arrowmen. NOAC is not only a great opportunity to learn a lot about the Order, but to meet other arrowmen from across the nation, and make new friendships. With so many classes and activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy. And don’t forget about Founders’ Day, an event like no other!
The current estimate for our contingent is about $1,000 per person, including transportation to and from the event, along with any other planned activities. Fundraising opportunities will be available through chapters. Costs should never keep an arrowman from participating. Let us know if you need help with fundraising. If you have any questions email the NOAC Chairman - Ben Laube, at noac@tipisa.org
In order to attend, your dues must be current for 2009. Dues can be paid online, or any lodge weekend

ArrowCorps5 Update: Washington-Jefferson National Forests
Updated 25 Jun : 13:35 by Matt Tucker
Tipisa is making news yet again!
The 21-strong contingent to the Washington and Jefferson National Forests in Virginia for ArrowCorps5 have been hard at work building and repairing trails throughout the area, and local news station ABC 13 was able to get a few minutes with our very own Chris Rafferty while working.
We'd also like to thank the 1st Methodist Church in Lexington, SC for hosting the contingent before and after their week of cheerful service.
Update: Check out the Week in Review video courtesy of Terrel Miller!
